Building the Foundation for Islamic Education in Newfoundland
Our Islamic school in St. John’s, Newfoundland, is established as a non-profit organisation on the principles of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, with a mandate to provide students with a strong foundation in both academic knowledge and Islamic character. We are committed to fostering integrity, compassion, and respect, while preparing students to become ethical and independent thinkers capable of addressing the challenges of modern society with wisdom and confidence. Although the school cannot accompany students beyond its walls, it is dedicated to equipping them with the skills, values, and mindset necessary to make sound decisions and live purposeful lives guided by faith and responsibility.
Alhamdulillah, with the blessing of Allah ﷻ, our dream of establishing the first Islamic school in Newfoundland is closer than ever to becoming a reality! The vision is clear, the plan is ready, and we are thrilled to invite you on this incredible journey with us, in shaa’ Allah.
For the academic year 2025/2026, we will begin in TWO PHASES: Phase 1: We will operate from a temporary location at 30 Harvey Road, offering a homeschooling program five days a week. Our curriculum will follow the official school syllabus, complemented by Islamic studies, Arabic, and other enriching extracurricular activities—providing a balanced educational experience rooted in faith and excellence.
Phase 2 (Starting Academic Year 2026/2027): In shaa’ Allah, we plan to move into a beautiful, historic building located in the city center. The purchase price of the building is $510,000, and an initial $100,000 will be required to prepare the first phase of the school. Since this building already functioned as a school for many years, only minor work is needed to bring it back to life and make it fully operational. We will complete this work in phases to make it attainable and affordable for our community. Once finished, it will serve as a full Islamic school for Grades 1 through 12, becoming the permanent home for our school community.
